Ein Gedi Oasis- Historical Place For “Hide and Seek”

Among the most spectacular and fabulous tourist places of Israel, ein gedi oasis is considered as the best one and hence got nominated for the honor of the Seven Wonders of the World. Being situated on the west shore of the Dead Sea, Ein gedi served as shelter for dovid hamelech who was hiding from king shaul hamelech. Presence of huge number of caves and large boulders makes the reason for the antelopes roaming.

This spot is also famous and familiar for the tourists as it had enthusiastic historical story of hiding and chasing sequence between dovid and shaul hamelech. The place which served as a cultic centre for aboriginal people of the region is the chalcolithic temple which was erected at ein gedi oasis.

This place was named in many historical sources and the abundant finds from the archeological excavations which have been conducted since 1960’s and was responsible for the tracing the history of this fabulous and unique place. The village at tel Goren, synagogue and the chalcolithic temple are some of the extraordinary tourist’s spots due to which this place drags enormous crowds and welcomes them with open arms from all over the world.
